Critical to addressing bullying in schools is the development of a school culture where respect is reflected in every principle, policy and practice and where bullying is outside the norm; making it difficult for bullying behaviours to gain traction.
Bullying is best dealt with restoratively, realistically and effectively. This occurs when the whole school community is invested in the process. A whole school approach is challenging and demanding, however, it will change lives and contribute to making your school a positive and dynamic community.
These school leadership resources are not a recipe or a formula. They provide starting points, tried and tested approaches and strategies that will apply to the whole school. These resources provide guidance that allows school leaders to adapt and develop within their own contexts.
The resources have been developed by Real Schools in consultation with the Department of Education.
